Listening Style Reflection

Part 1

1. My result is Time-Oriented as 4, People-Oriented as 3, Action-Oriented as 2, and Content-Oriented as 1. 
2. Yes. I scored myself as a Blue personality and the Time-Oriented listening style matches this color. Blue personalities are more anal and I think being Time-Oriented (cutting people off b/c of time limits) matches this.
3. My entire family always say that I talk too loud for too long so they either zone out, ignore me, or yell at me to stop talking. So I'm a Time-Oriented person since they do the same thing to me. 

Part 2

1. My bud Estrella filled out the test for me. She's been my bud for at least 4 years I think.
2. They scored me as a 3 for Action-Oriented and a 2 for the other three categories.
3. Yes this is very different from what I scored myself as. 
4. I feel as if Action and Time listening styles are similar since both come off as anal listening styles. Such as "getting frustrated when people don't present their ideas orderly" and "I interrupt other in order to move on to the next subject". So i'm not surprised.
5. It shows me i'm not personal/appreciative to everything everyone says.

Communication Style Reflection

Part 1 - My results
1. I rated myself as a Entertainer (14pts), 2nd place was Analyzer (12pts).
2. In the personality color test, I rated myself as a Blue. In your lecture, it was mentioned how Blue's are normally Analyzers. This is almost the case with me. I think i'm more goofy which stands out more compared to how logical I am, resulting in a Entertainer result rather than Analyzer.
3. My parents say they're "liberal" but they act pretty conservative. I don't speak with them and we aren't very close. I make sure I talk openly about whatever's on my mind and make sure communication is open when i'm speaking with my friends. My communication style is open, but b/c of this I get a lot of TMI's. So I have to PC myself when i'm not talking to my buds. 

Part 2 - Bud's results
1. My bud Estrella did all the tests for me. My bud for 5 years I think.
2. They rated me as a Entertainer (15pts) with both Ruler and Analyzer as (12pts).
3. Literally, almost the exact same results.
4. No b/c I think I know how my bud sees me pretty well. Again, I speak with them openly so they know how I think and (hopefully) I know how they think.
5. I think I communicate with my buds well.
6. Maybe learn how to PC myself better. I don't realize how terrible something I said is until after I said it. For example, in the personality color meetings, I was talking with my group mates and we had to mention out pet peeves. I said people eating with their mouths open (which was fine) b/c it sounds like sex noises (which was NOT fine). It made it awkward and I didn't talk for the rest of the time. I want to learn how to recover and prevent myself from saying dumb shit like that.

Personality Profile Reflection

Part 1 - Self tested results

1. I got the Blue section as the majority (38pts). The 2nd place was a three way tie with Red, Green, and Yellow (28pts).

2. I think I agree. After hearing you explanation on Blue, I think a lot of what was said is what I do. I tend to not talk to others for long periods of time and I don't believe I fit leadership roles. 

3. I got these results b/c I was indecisive with my answers. Some things in the same rows are things I believe I strongly do/don't do. In the first row, the option "Honest" was also paired with "Fair". I believe i'm a 6 when it comes to honesty but a 4 or 3 when it comes to fairness. 

4. I believe that the way I was raised may have something to do with it. I never really participated in non-school activities and didn't have a active social life. I was more of a "bud of the joke" for most people during my elementary/middle school life and just embraced it when I got older in order to cope with it. 

Part 2 - Friend's tested results

1. I had my best bud Estrella do the test. I've been buds with her for about 4 or 5 years now.

2. They tested me as a Red (29pts) then as a tie for both Orange and Purple (26pts). Blue turned out to be 5th place (23pts).

3. I personally tested as Red in 2nd place so I guess I was pretty close in that sense. However, I didn't get anywhere close when testing for Blue.

4. I'm not really surprise given the relationship I have with my bud Estrella. We're both pretty mean and brutally honest with each other so I can see why she would score me as a Red section.

5. This test reveals to me how I see others and how I treat them. I also factored in code-switching when I was personally taking the test, which might of been the reason as to why my results had a 3-way tie.
